About Us
GOWA was formed in 2022 by Noelle
Gormley and Louise Ward. We are an Irish company based in Sligo.
Noelle completed her Honours business degree from IT Sligo. She worked as a Development Officer in Connacht LGFA and LGFA National Tutor for many years before joining the HSE.
Louise qualified as a physiotherapist at The University of Limerick and also began a career in the HSE, working at Portiuncula University Hospital for many years.
However, when a passion for sport led to their two paths converging, and a mutual dream of running their own business - GOWA was born!!

Drawing on their diverse skills acquired in the healthcare sector, Ward and Gormley seamlessly transitioned into the world of business, weaving their unique experiences into the fabric of GOWA’s identity. Their story is a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and the pursuit of dreams.
With a remarkable tally of over 20 All Ireland medals between them in Gaelic Football, Basketball, Rounders and Soccer, Noelle and Louise bring a wealth of sporting knowledge to GOWA. Drawing inspiration from their decorated careers, Ward and Gormley aspire to infuse GOWA with the same dedication, teamwork, and excellence that defined their journey to numerous All Ireland victories. Their impressive sporting achievements serve as both a foundation and a driving force behind their entrepreneurial pursuit, setting the stage for GOWA to emulate the success they have experienced in the realm of sport.
Our Mission
Our mission revolves around being the exclusive female-owned teamwear supplier in the country, positioning us uniquely to cater to the specific needs of women in sports. We are committed to empowering women in the sporting arena, particularly by collaborating closely with ladies' sports teams. Through our dedicated efforts, we aim to inspire and demonstrate that pursuing one's dreams in both sports and business is not only achievable but essential. By providing high-quality teamwear and fostering a supportive environment, we strive to empower women to break barriers, excel in their athletic pursuits, and confidently pursue successful careers in the business world.
